Children and Family Services

The severity of the psychiatric problems that children are experiencing is increasing at an alarming rate, requiring us to continually expand our services to meet these very important needs. Almost half of the services currently available are designed to help children. The following represents a sample of the services available.

Outpatient Services

Clinical support for children and families who are experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.

Student Assistance Program (SAP)

Assessment and referral services to assist schools and families when there is concern about student mental health or substance abuse problems.

Wraparound Services

Highly individualized mental health interventions designed to support a child in his home, school and community.

Child intensive Case Management/Resource Coordination

For children and adolescents from birth to 18 whose functioning is severely impaired and who have multi-system needs. This empowers families to seek needed support and services and reduce hospitalizations.

Child Service Case Management

Services to assist children, adolescents and families in gaining access to appropriate mental health services, resources and supports.

Transitional Case Management

Services for Montgomery County residents between the ages of 16-23 with mental health needs that are transitioning out of children's services. Provides individualized support to young adults as they transition into adulthood and empowers young adults to seek needed support and services.

Family Based Services

Community-based therapy and support services to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems. Provides therapy in a family's home emphasizing communication skills and family conflict management.

Clinical Options toward REcovery (CORE)

Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Treatment for adolescents, adults and families who are affected by drug and alcohol problems.

Preschool Intervention Program (PIP)

A therapeutic, center-based program designed to meet the needs of children ages 3 to 5 who have behavioral, social and emotional difficulties. The treatment team includes a child psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, and other trained professionals.

Family Life Education & Counseling Services (FLECS)

A therapeutic program designed to address the social, emotional, educational and behavioral problems of children ages 5 to 12 years.

Adult Services

Approximately one in five American adults have their lives interrupted by some form of mental illness. Central provides the necessary support to enable people living with mental illness to be productive members of society. A partial list of services appears here.

Outpatient Services

Clinical support providing communication and coping skills on an individual, couple and family basis.

Intensive Case Management/Resource Coordination

In-community support services for persons with serious mental illness who are crisis-prone or unable to maintain steady connections with community-based services.

Service Case Management

Services to assist individuals and families in gaining access to appropriate mental health services, resources and supports.

Senior Care Case Management

Services for individuals aged 60 and over who may have mental health needs or need intensive senior care. Provides emotional and resource support for seniors in need and provides resource referrals for community resources and senior services.

Intensive Outpatient Program

A comprehensive therapeutic experience, intended to help people recover their hopes and dreams for self-determination and build strengths and skills through group therapy, peer mentoring and linkage to individual therapy, case management and psychiatric supports.

OASIS Program

Supportive therapeutic environment for individuals aged 60 and over with history of serious mental illness. Provides structured individual and group activities and psychiatric services to maintain Activities of Daily Living at an optimal level.

Clinical Options toward REcovery (CORE)

Structured support for people with addiction problems.

Senior Outreach Services (SOS)

For homebound persons ages 60 and older providing in-home evaluations, medication management and caretaker training.

Certified Peer Specialist Services

Provide support, advocacy and peer counseling services by sharing personal experiences of hope and recovery.

Community Outreach

Provide interaction, support and education for local businesses and community services.
